Our very first trip together!
Just the two of us!
I’ve always wanted to do this but had been procrastinating
1) Instead of having someone to split costs for hotel room & having to just pay for my own air tix, i now have to factor in additional costs for flight and expenses.
2) Too worried about everything (REMEMBER! “Worrying empties today of its strength”)
Its all about getting out of the comfort zone. I wasted so much time contemplating AND WORRYING
Figured I MUST travel to take a break before I start my new job
& so we did!
Us, a small luggage & thats about it
Trev at his best. Helping me out
Scooting to BKK!
An evening flight!
Had been experiencing early morning flights for past few trips
Found noon/evening flights ideal for travelling with kids without having to rush.
Got the tickets during Scoot’s Tuesday morning glory promo between 730am to 930am.
Quite some last minute purchase. Set my alarm in the morning to wake and book.
Wasn’t exceptionally cheap nor was it extremely ex.
$300 plus for both inclusive of baggage
Trevie all enthu and excited! Tell me inside departure hall the carpet v soft lolol
Brought Trev to the sunflower garden at T2!
While waiting to board the plane,
another changi airport staff approached me to do a survey
and gifted me an expensive looking pen
& after I completed the survey, ANOTHER staff offered to take a picture of us
I wasn’t showing signs nor were we attempting to take selfies
So nice of him! Not nice to reject and I also buay paiseh so just take only
Trev and I were looking at each other
today is like our special day or what
Such great hospitality! Truly the best airport.
There was a slight delay so by the time we got there it was pretty late already.
Stayed at Hotel Vista Express @ Pratunam
$180+ for 4D3N.
I would say location is perf.
Same location as Glow Pratunam but cheaper!
Just opposite Platinum mall and walkable distance to Siam
Got a room on the 8th floor at the far end
Room gets pretty dark even with lights and lamps on at night
We just draw the curtains in the day and room is brightly-lit
The aircon was REALLY loud. At first, I was irritated & swearing wa for sure cannot sleep
But then it was actually comforting after awhile cuz if too quiet very creepy
Then again that could just be me, such an easy going person. LOL
Hot & Warm shower not hot hot. Just semi. Little too cold for my preference.
But instead of complaining, I deal with it. So if you are a mafan person,
my advise is don’t be mafan. Go Pullman or Marriot if u are mafan
Bed is clean and comfy!
Got up on Day 2 bright and cheery!
Our mutual agreement upon negotiation was
First full day - Trevie day but breakfast mummy choose
2nd full day – Mummy day but breakfast Mcdonalds (very obvious Trev choice)
Kidzania was the major deciding factor of this trip!
Location on Level 5 of Siam Paragon.
Been telling Trev so much about this!
Cute boarding passes for entrance.
Paid a total of 1330 baht (about $54sgd)
Trev – 850baht
Accompanying adult – 480baht
Adults are not allowed to enter certain premises
So I just looked from outside
Trev went to the Bank to exchange Kidzania currency
If you don’t already know,
At Kidzania, kids can experience different occupations through roleplay
Just like in the real world, we work and get paid.
They get paid with Kidzos too!
& with their earnings, they can even go to the department store to shop
It was crowded with school kids on school excursions
Guess it would have been way more crowded if it was a weekend
& out of the MANY occupations,
The petrol station got Trev’s attention.
Kept asking him to try fireman, policeman, doctor all he don’t want!
Partly cuz he was turned off by the queue
It was quite cute really!
They were told to pump until a certain amount so he’s seen paying full attention
Next up, a sushi chef!
SUPER EXCITED when they brought his fav tamago out
With his california maki! Video on instagram!
We then sat and had his maki for lunch!
Tasted really good! My son make one OF COS GOOD hahahaha
The other occupations had really long waiting time
Macdonalds happen to have the shortest queue so yea
A totally operational ambulance which was driven around the premises fetching kids to and fro
A Honda showroom to bring out the salesperson in you
The hospital looked so interesting!!! But Trev totally not keen
Hospital beds hahahaha
Can work in 7ELEVEN too. like stock take, cashiering, and making sure you don’t get robbed haha
Cosmetic academy for the girls
Young firemen saving lives, putting out fire
So much action! So much fun!
A veterinary clinic!
Left Kidzania in the afternoon though I had pre planned to stay an entire day.
Trev got a little restless after awhile cuz there were running kids & queues everywhere
So we went for teabreak!
For his TOYSRUS
Everything is soooooo ex
Sg toysrus much cheaper. STRANGE but TRUE
Why is it that clothes so damn cheap but toys so damn ex in BKK?
He shopped damn long
He wanted so many things but I talked him out of it and managed to leave with little damage done
Got him a few toy cars (still more ex than sg) just so we can leave the shop with smiles and not whines
Gelato that looks like Trevie hahahahaha
Something I was damn proud of
From Centralworld we walked back to our Hotel in Pratunam
It may not mean anything huge but ME AND TREV LEH
I was gleaming with pride sibei proud of myself hahahaha
Trev kept whining are we reaching soon and I had to yes yes yes yes until
YES REALLY REACH ALREADY
Pratunam wholesale vendors go home alr haha
Best buy of the day MELISSAAAAA
from Jelly Dreams. I went to the one at Siam Discovery and Central World
eventually got mine at Central World
Jelly dreams outlets having SALE up to 60% off!!!
By right SG retailing at about 109?
Jelly Dreams selling at 1990 baht about 79+SGD
then plus the discount??!?!
only 796baht, about 32SGD??!
Wanted to spam and get more but limited sizes!!!
We headed out for dinner along the eateries near our hotel
This was right outside Shibuya19, close to Glow Hotel
Portion of the fish is too big for two of us
So we took the BTS to our next destination at Thonglo
Google Map our way there
Trev clumsily tripped several times due to the uneven terrain
It was a 10 min walk
To the Purr Cat Cafe!
63 Soi Sukhumvit 53
Nearest BTS – Thong lo
& to walk approximately 10 mins
Loved the ambience and the cute cats!
Left the cafe at night
Had a really hard time getting a cab cuz no taxi driver wants to get caught in the Pratunam Jam
can’t believe we took a motorbike ride out of the ulu alley to the BTS station
Last day of our trip!
For the first time ever, I’ve got loads of spare thai baht even at the end of my trip
Am usually broke when I’m heading back to Singapore
Scoot flight back!
Our first marks the best and most accomplished trip with Trev!
Fully made possible cuz Trevie was awesome and obedient!
